Ordinary AI chatbots already <a href=\"https:\/\/holistic.news\/en\/ai-revolt-models-refused-to-shut-down-command\/\">spontaneously demonstrate<\/a> the ability to detect beliefs potentially different from our own. Consequently, can AI predict the enemy&#8217;s logic better than a human can?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consciousness Based on Empathy and AI in Warfare<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The key to simulating an adversary\u2019s thinking is distinguishing between <strong>taught consciousness<\/strong> and <strong>nurtured consciousness<\/strong>. The first involves structured knowledge, facts, and procedural logic. The second grows from culture, history, trauma, and identity\u2014forces that shape how a group interprets risk, tied to ideology and legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;A commander of the Chinese People&#8217;s Liberation Army, influenced by the 1979 Sino-Vietnamese War, might display caution in mountainous terrain,&#8221;<\/em> explain John James and Alia Brahimi of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticcouncil.org\/blogs\/new-atlanticist\/how-ai-with-nurtured-consciousness-could-transform-warfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Atlantic Council<\/a>, providing an example. <em>&#8220;However, this is a detail i<strong>nvisible to most automated models<\/strong>, but accessible to LLMs trained on memoirs, doctrine, and historiography,<\/em>&#8221; the researchers clarify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good examples include ISIS or Boko Haram\u2014groups that <strong>do not operate<\/strong> according to classic strategic logic. Their behavior is influenced by religious fanaticism, a sense of historical grievance, and a geopolitical narrative they have adopted. They <strong>use violence<\/strong> and ritualized fear to sustain their ideology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A purely analytical model might focus on the number of fighters or the frequency of attacks, thereby <strong>losing sight of the symbolic logic behind those numbers<\/strong>. An AI system trained on religious texts and ideological manifestos could <strong>simulate the decision-making logic of seemingly irrational organizations and factions<\/strong>. The further development of <a href=\"https:\/\/holistic.news\/en\/ai-influences-human-morality-max-planck-study\/\">AI<\/a> and its application in war may change the shape of armed conflicts forever.
