Daniel Susskind: Preparing ourselves for the future

“I don’t think there’s going to be a some sudden technological big bang after which suddenly everyone finds themselves without work,” Susskind says. “What I worry about is a more gradual problem, that as we move through the 21st century more and more people are going to find themselves unable to do the sorts of work that has to be done.”

Daniel Susskind explores the impact of technology, and particularly AI, on work and society, about which he has written a number of books. He spoke to John Beauchamp during the first edition of Holistic Talk at Cavatina Hall in Bielsko-Biała back in February 2024.
