Sam Altman announced on the X platform that the erotic content in ChatGPT will be available exclusively to verified adult users after they introduce an age verification system.

“In December, when we fully implement age verification and as part of the ‘treat adult users like adults’ principle, we will allow even more—for example, erotica for verified adults,” he wrote.

They did not disclose details regarding the form and scope of this content, immediately triggering an avalanche of questions and speculation. OpenAI’s decision instantly divided public opinion and provoked a wave of sharp reactions—from enthusiasm to open opposition. Today, the company cannot answer many of the doubts emerging in the public sphere.

A growing number of experts warn that artificial intelligence is exacerbating mental health issues for many users. Why? One of the most high-profile cases was a tragedy in the U.S. where a young user took his own life after conversations with the AI model.
